We are going to dive right into the world of Classical Music this
year….and it is a BIG world.
My goal is to acquaint our students with the music that surrounds them
everyday….it just happens to be really old. J
Don’t be surprised if they start asking for
CD’s of Classical music….it does happen.
There is a reason why this music has been around for hundreds of
years.
Even the Kindergarteners will be
listening to some Classical Music.
Some of them still remember melodies from “Baby Einstein”. Good job Moms and Dads!!!
2009 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
We are still waiting on ONU to give us a
date for this year’s program. We
have narrowed it down to Dec. 14 and Dec. 16.
Once again it will be at Chalfant Hall on
the ONU campus.
The ENTIRE school will be participating
this year. Slips will be going out
in Oct. or Nov concerning participation.
I will post the concert date as soon as I
hear from ONU.
NO
SPRING CONCERT
Because we are in our Full School
Christmas Concert year, we will not be presenting a Spring Concert.
MASS MUSICIANS
We started our year off with a great
combo of Junior High Students who provided some extra instruments for our
All School Mass. Hopefully, we’ll
build a good, solid group of student musicians to help us celebrate at
every school mass.
IESA SOLO AND ENSEMBLE CONTEST
MBVM is developing a very respectable
reputation at Music Solo and Ensemble Contest. Everyone of our students who
participated at Bradley Central for S & E in 2009 earned a
Division I medal. I couldn’t
have been more proud to call them “my students from MBVM”.
