Welcome to my Web site!

I am married to Max Brigham.  We live in Chebanse, Illinois and we have raised four children:  Joel, Kyle, Jenna and Jackie.

I hold a Masters in Music Education from Illinois State University where I also earned my undergraduate degree in Music Education.

A long, long time ago I spent a summer in Salzburg, Austria attending the Orff Institute of Music and the College of Salzburg.  The Orff Institute provided me with instructions on the use of Orff instruments in the classroom, and luckily, we have a nice assortment of Orff instruments in our school.

I began my teaching career at Limestone/Bonfield in 1978 teaching 5-8 general music and choir.  From 1982 until 1991 I taught at Bishop McNamara High School where I directed a Concert Choir, Jazz Choir and Pep Band.  Along with my performing organizations, I taught Introduction to Fine Arts (Music) for all freshmen and directed the school musicals.

The years after McNamara and before Maternity were spent teaching private voice lessons. My last school position was teaching full time at Central High School where I directed seven performing choirs.

Besides teaching at Maternity, I am the founder and director of "Easy Street Theater" for actors with disabilities.  (Linked)

I love teaching at Maternity BVM and plan to make this my last teaching job.  The students are exceptional.  The parents are amazingly supportive.  There is no other staff I'd rather spend my days with then the professionals at MBVM.

I'm glad to be here.
